My Story

I've spent the past five years working in school-based mental health, sitting with preteens and teens through the kind of moments that don't show up on a report card. That work gave me a deep appreciation for how different everyone's process is, and a clear sense of what actually moves the needle versus what just looks like therapy.

My approach draws primarily from CBT and DBT. In practice, that means I follow your lead. When something important is happening, I give it room. When the moment feels right, I'll reflect back what I'm hearing, offer a reframe, or introduce something concrete to work with. Structure and intervention come in when they're useful, not before.

What I hear most from clients is that sessions feel different from what they expected. Part of that is warmth. Part of it is that I genuinely don't judge. I was a complicated kid myself, and when someone comes in carrying something they're not sure they should say out loud, I'm not going to flinch. You can say it. That's what this is for.

I'm currently pursuing additional training in ADHD and addiction, two areas I work in regularly and want to go deeper in.

Credentials & Training

My Therapeutic Approach

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)

Identifying the thought patterns that keep you stuck and building more accurate, flexible ways of thinking and responding.

Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT)

Building the skills to manage intense emotions, tolerate distress, and navigate relationships without things spiraling out of control.

Culturally Responsive Therapy

Your cultural background, family system, and identity are part of the picture, not a footnote. I factor all of this in from day one.

Strengths-Based

Identifying what's already working, building on what you bring to the table, and approaching growth from a place of capacity rather than deficit.

Person-Centered

You're the expert on your own life. My job is to follow your lead, earn your trust, and create enough room for you to actually explore it.

Video Games & Addiction

Understanding what gaming and addictive behavior are doing for you, what need they're meeting, and what gets in the way of putting them down.

What to Expect

Starting therapy can feel like a big step, especially if it's your first time. Here's what the process looks like with me.

1

Free 15-Minute Consultation

We talk, we get a feel for each other. You can ask questions. There's no pressure to commit, and no cost. I want to make sure we're genuinely a good fit.

2

Intake & Getting to Know You

The first 1–2 sessions are about context. I ask questions, listen a lot, and start to get a picture of your life. Not just the presenting problem, but you as a whole person.

3

Ongoing Weekly Sessions

We meet weekly for 50-minute sessions via video. We'll work toward your goals, adjust as you grow, and build a space you can count on. You'll be heard, challenged gently, and supported consistently.

4

Real Progress, at Your Pace

Therapy isn't linear, and I don't expect you to "get better" on a schedule. We check in on your goals regularly, celebrate wins, and adjust the work when life changes.
